Gasworks has a strong reputation for discovering and introducing new local and international talent in London. With an an ambitious programme of residencies, exhibitions, events and outreach projects, we are committed to supporting research and production of new work by emerging and innovative artists.
Over the last 15 years, Gasworks has worked with hundreds of artists from more than 60 countries around the world. Many have gone on to become major names in the international art scene. These include Tania Bruguera, Subodh Gupta, Renata Lucas, Goshka Macuga, Yinka Shonibare and Javier Tellez.
More recently, Gasworks has supported new talent such as Matthew Darbyshire, Simon Fujiwara, Mateo Lopez, Olivia Plender, Gabriel Sierra, Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, and The Otolith Group whose exhibition A Long Time Between Suns, earned them a nomination for the Turner Prize in 2010.
As part of Triangle Network, Gasworks has a unique access to artists in countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East, enabling us to promote new and challenging views of contemporary art in the UK context.
In the current economic climate, the role of private donors is crucial to developing a high quality programme and supporting artists' work. In return, Gasworks is able to offer a series of benefits only available to our Patrons.
