Drop in to Gasworks any time between 8.30 - 10.00am. Followed by a free tour of the Bloomberg New Contemporaries exhibitions at Block 336 at 10.30am.
Gasworks is pleased to invite local residents, community groups and businesses to a free breakfast event on 28 February. Join us for coffee, tea and pastries, say hello to our team, and meet other locals! Drop in any time between 8.30 - 10.00am.
Visitors can also take a look around our current exhibition Rachal Bradley: Interlocutor, a major new commission by the Nottingham-based artist which includes a prosthesis-like intervention on Gasworks' exterior walls, transforming the organisation into a negative ion generator. For this exhibition Bradley has also encased the gallery floor in a natural resin infused with a bespoke herbal tonic. Made following interviews with Gasworks staff, this is intended to remedy the organisation's ailments.
After the breakfast we will head over to see the Bloomberg New Contemporaries exhibition at nearby Block 336 (either by walking or bus depending on weather). Bloomberg New Contemporaries is an annual exhibition featuring emerging art practitioners, selected each year by a panel of including writers, curators and artists. This years' selectors comprising Caroline Achaintre, Elizabeth Price and George Shaw have chosen 47 artists for the annual open submission exhibition, including Gasworks Participation artist in residence Seth Pimlott.
