Simon Fujiwara, Frozen, 2010. Proposal for Frieze Art Fair

The in-conversation with Simon Fujiwara and Sarah McCrory scheduled for Tuesday 7 September, 7-9pm has been cancelled due to ill health. A new date will be announced soon. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Gasworks visiting artist Simon Fujiwara will discuss his project Frozen with Frieze Foundation Curator Sarah McCrory within the larger scope of his artistic practice.

The site-specific installation will be presented at Frieze Art Fair and is based on a fictive premise that an ancient lost city has been discovered beneath the site of the fair. As such, visitors will encounter archaeological digs, displays of found artefacts and graphic panels describing a historic civilization that was once a hub of art and commerce.

Simon Fujiwara is the winner of The Cartier Award 2010 – one of the world's leading yearly awards for emerging artists. The award, which is developed as a collaboration with Frieze Art Fair, is funded by Cartier.
