The Curator is responsible for planning and delivering the artistic programme for Gasworks in consultation with the Director. S/he is responsible for the development of exhibitions, residencies, public programme, international fellowships and occasional off-site projects. The role includes curatorial research, advocacy and fundraising for the artistic programmes.
The new Curator post will start in October 2014 and will work with the Director to deliver a small number of planned activities during the building closure (Gasworks will close for refurbishment in November 2014 and aims to reopen in June 2015). During this time s/he will focus on planning the re-launch programme for the organisation. The Curator will contribute to developing the staffing structure of the organisation post-reopening. This will include the recruitment of a supporting position for the delivery of the artistic programme.
Full-time, fixed term position (18 months)
Hours of work: 9.30am – 6pm
Starting salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)
