A Talk by Antonio Contador and Carla Cruz with Ben Alsop (Curator, Department of Coins and Medals, British Museum), Murray Andrews (Researcher in the Archaeometallurgy Department, UCL) and John Chu (Art Historian, The Courtauld Institute of Art)

Initiated in 2012, Antonio and Carla’s project 'Finding Money: London and Paris Diary' investigates the social, political and postural implications of finding money on the street. For this event, they will further unpack the history and symbolism of this common occurrence with the help of experts from various fields, including archeolometalurgy, numismatics and art history. Together the participants will expand on the history of coinage its relationship to the social and alchemical transformation of everyday life in eighteenth century in Britain.
