Gasworks presents the first solo exhibition of acclaimed installation/performance artist Audry Liseron-Monfils. Audry who lives and works in Paris will exhibit a newly commissioned installation at Gasworks, as well as performing 'Cour d'air' at the Institute of Contemporary Art and Brixton Library.

Audry's practice deals with the occupation of both personal and architectural spaces and examines physical and symbolic borders. His performance 'Cour d'air' includes a custom-built platform, in which Audry is completely enclosed apart from the top lobe of his head. Viewers are invited to step up onto the platform where they will find the top of his head at the same level as their feet. Inside the platform, Audry is recording the ambient sounds and engaging in dialogues with visitors who pass him written questions on topics of their choice. The work questions his social, historical and geographical context as well as the idea of territory as a field of artistic investigation. For his exhibition at Gasworks Audry has produced a new work based on his recent trip to the gold mines of Brazil. The installation, which includes photography, video and objects furthers Audry's investigation into borders and territory and examines the environmental, political and social situation of this highly controversial area.
