Foreign Investment was asked to launch its London campaign Duty Free at Gasworks. An international co-operative of artists, Foreign Investment encourage investment in the making of art by members of the public, and the resulting work is a hybrid of new public art and performance.

At Gasworks, over four successive weekends, members of the group offered visitors a choice of materials which were melted down in a 'foundry' space. The visitor was then encouraged to create their own work using molten metal, chocolate or wax. The images were then reproduced and analysed. This process set up an exchange of objects to create 'banks of future investment.'

Foreign Investment
