Gasworks presents the third and final instalment of Nights In: a series of one-night-only, silent moving image presentations, selected from open submission. As with previous selections, there's an array of working procedures and effects, including animation, optical illusions, and text, but all works unified by one crucial aspect: silence.

At a time when broadcast-quality, stereo blasting, DVD producing, video technology reaches the high street at accessible prices, artists continue to make silent films. This selection of works for Nights In will highlight the economic use of the medium by artists who, in making uncomplicated films, eschew any unnecessary use of sound.
