Amos Letsoalo was part of a summer studio residency at the Gasworks. During the two month period he developed a new body of work. He produced a series of still life paintings in which the colours reflect the qualities of African landscape.

Amos was born in Peitersburg, South Africa and has studied at the Johannesburg Art Foundation. He has participated in various group shows in South Africa and has participated in International workshops, including Thapong workshop in Botswana. He was also commissioned by the British Council to produce a work for the South Africa High Commission, in honour of President Nelson Mandela's 80th birthday. His work was part of the new South Africa High Commission's collection of contemporary South African artists.
