Emanuele Becheri was born in Prato, Italy where he lives and works. His residency is organised in collaboration with Museo d’arte Provincia di Nouro, Italy.

Acting both as the director as well the the lone witness of an event, Becheri's practice often creates and records staged situations. Relying on the role of chance in the process of making, his works are an outcome of narratives and scenarios such as the the trail of snails travelling over a painted card, a storm breaking out or combustion of everyday objects.

Becheri's recent solo exhibitions include Impressioni, Galerija Gregor Podnar, XXX, Germany, 2010; Fankoo (with Nim Kruaseng), Galleria Fabio Tiboni, Bologna, 2009; Time Out of Joint, Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea, Ferrara, 2008; and Sept Dessins, Galerie Bernard Bouch, Paris, 2006. He has taken part in several group exhibitions such as Sensibili Energie, GCAMC, Arezzo, 2009; Italian Open, Annet Gelink, Amsterdam, 2009; Lo Sguardo Ostinato, Casa Masaccio, Arezzo; L’evento immovile (Incantamenti), Casa LAI, Nouro, 2008; and All our everydays, Gallery VER, Bangkok, 2008.
