Goro Hasegawa graduated in Fine Arts (sculpture) at the Slade School of Fine Arts in June 1998. Since then he has had a residency in Hungary and has now completed a three-month residency at Gasworks. Goro's new papier-mache sculptures seem to arise from a process of natural growth.

Through the organic qualities of the medium he captures the situation of the 'transplanted' or the 'captive' who adapts and grows, becoming attached to new and apparently alien environments.
