During her residency at Gasworks Samina Mansuri has produced new work which is specific to her residency experience, taking into account the studio space, environment and the residency duration. The work emerges from floppy yet animated forms that avoid an easy definition. They hint at the figurative yet retain an abstract configuration.

The work is suggestive of transition and is concerned with the process of becoming. The forms have a playful resonance that belies the serious content of the work. As a Rochard text, the work stimulates an instinctive participation, calling attention to the personal, the social, and the political.
