Duba Sambolec

"Appropriating the space means a two-way dialogue. Here I have fallen in love with the space - the light-filled gallery with the windows on the ceiling. My work emphasizes, supports and exposes the architecture of the gallery. The viewer is the element in between, making the connections, experiencing the relationships.

The site specificity of the installation extends outwards; the urban territory of the cricket ground and the gasworks' industrial remains. I think of the 'oval' road along which I have walked so many times, looking not stopping my ears from hearing".
